Virtual Ground Water Academy
Virtual Ground Water Academy was originally conceived as a CD for training professionals in applied hydrogeology. With support from Geoprobe Systems, QED Environmental Systems, In-Situ, Inc., Regenesis, Inc., and Fuss and O'Neill, Inc.. efforts began in 2001 to develop an interactive training CD. Given rapid developments in the internet and in software, the CD evolved into the Introduction to Ground Water Hydrology online course. The course has been used since 2005 at the University of Connecticut. Each year addtional elements have been added and the course material, with input from students and professionals, continues to evolve. In addition to the basic hydrogeology course, new advanced courses are being added to provide specialized training for professionals.
